So many brushes! We tried all sorts of brushes to see what kinds of marks we could make with them. Sometimes we adjusted the pressure of a stroke. Other times we adjusted the amount of water or paint. After we all tried a flathead, fan, bright, round, angled, and liner brush we swapped papers with a friend. We tried to guess which brush made which stroke. Some were easy to determine while others were tricky. Now we know some more ways to use a brush with tempera or acrylic paint to create new effects! |

It was a strange day! When we came to art class there was a box full of stuff on our tables. We had to sort everything into two piles: tools or mediums. It was tough! We had to patiently listen to our peers and ask thoughtful, clarifying questions to make our decisions. In upcoming classes, we will focus on different ways artists use mediums and tools.
